Dogs are the best thing on the planet. They really deserve the title "Man's best friend". They are intelligent, kind-hearted loyal and have so many other qualities which are very difficult to find in humans nowadays.

My beloved Pomeranian, 'Oscar' who is three years old has taught me so many valuable life lessons. I got him when I was sixteen years old.

Everybody around you teaches you so many things, whether it's animals, objects or humans we should just know how to grab and learn from them.

I guess many of us have fond memories of our childhood dogs. Don't we! I have realised this thing that, 'Oscar' has made me learn a lot of valuable lessons in some or the other way.

Here are the seven valuable lessons that I have learnt from my dog:-

Hi-five Oscar!!!

1. They don't hold grudges

As humans, this is a very hard one to catch but, every dog can. Whether they are abused or howled at five minutes ago, dogs don't focus on the past.

They always prefer to live in the moment. I guess, this thing is very hard to learn but my dog has made me learn it.

Let grudges go and you will create your own personal freedom!

2. Accept yourself

We all spend a lot of time trying to make ourselves look like someone else's vision of perfection rather than loving our unique features, unique problems. Don't we?

Just imagine how boring it would be if dogs looked and behaved alike? Isn't it!

So, learn to love and accept everything about yourself - the bad and the good.

3. Enjoy your journey to the fullest

Have you ever noticed that when you take your dogs for the car ride, they stick their head out of the window and feel the wind?
They don't even care where they are going. Their focus is just on enjoying the journey.

Without any doubt, goals are great to set, but the thing is that we all often forget to enjoy the journey that's the most important thing.

Getting attached to the outcome, just makes us feel frustrated and depressed if our exact expectations are not met. While focusing on the outcome we tend to forget to enjoy the whole process.

So, next time when you set a goal, don't forget to enjoy every moment of fun, creativity and the valuable lessons in that journey.

4. Love Unconditionally

I guess, most of you have seen this thing that when you come back after your work, your dogs start wagging their tails after seeing you, no matter what mood you are in.

They still want you to give a lot of wet kisses, even if you shout at them. Haha, they are very cute!

They immediately forgive you no matter how you behave with them. Loving others unconditionally is no doubt a hard task, but it is the one that will surely make the world a better place to live in.

5. Beat fear with love

There are so many stories about aggressive, frightful dogs who completely changed into a kind and gentle dog when they were placed in a loving environment.

The thing is that dogs can beat their fear and insecurities through love, so can human beings. Yes! Love truly does defeat all, the first step for all of us is to love ourselves.

If you replace fear and self-criticism with self-love no matter what the situation is, without any doubt your life gets much better and easier.

Self- love is the best love!

6. Naps are important

Dogs know the value of a good nap. They run around the house, eat and take a nap. Then they again get up, run around some more and go back to sleep.

The dogs never exert themselves. Unlike, humans they know that to have the energy for all the things that we want to do, it's important to take some time out to relax and gather that energy.

We humans overexert ourselves, trying to get through daily responsibilities. We don't even realise this thing that if we will exert ourselves, how we gonna work further with full concentration.

If you want to work with full concentration then don't ever forget to realise that our bodies need a sufficient amount of rest.

Never forget to take breaks in between your work. Short naps are important. They act as energy boosters.

Take breaks!

7. Be yourself

Dogs just love being himself. Happy or sad one day, silly the other day. He doesn't even bother what others will think about him. This is the one quality that makes him so adorable.

So, be as adorable as the dogs. Don't overthink what others will think about you.

Just be yourself!

These are the seven valuable life lessons that I have learnt from my dog.

CONCLUSION

Dogs are great teachers. They actually help us to reflect on life and perhaps shows us how should we live our lives.

So, it's time to give a big thank you hugs to dogs for teaching us so much in our life!
