How Music boosts the mood and changes our perspective?

In experiments, where people looked at a happy face or a sad face, the music they listened to affect the way they perceive it. It actually influenced what they saw. If you are listening to happy music, then a more natural face was more likely to be viewed as a happy face and vice versa.

If you listen to the music then you may know that your body can react in several various ways:

1. Tapping your feet
2. Nodding your head

The beat of the song that you are listening to can influence your heart rate and you know what, when people sing together then their breathing often becomes synchronised and it produces more positive emotions.

These all things happen because musical patterns affect your different areas which are involved in memory and emotions.

Why music is played in restaurants?

Music has a large role to play in setting the tone of a restaurant. Many studies show that it actually impacts the way you eat. Restaurants playing music aligned with their brand values enjoyed quarter sales performance.

Do you know that the pace of music influences the desires? Yes, it does. Restaurants with slow tempo music had a higher revenue due to diners staying for longer and ordering more drinks.

The famous British chef Heston Blumenthal has taken the use of auditory factors further with his sound of the sea dish, which was served with an MP3 player which actually enhanced the flavour of the dish and it tastes much better. So, that's why restaurants use music.
