Can you judge a book by its cover? My answer to this is of course not, and I guess that many of you too will say No. But, you can tell a lot about the personality of someone by their handwriting.

Do you know that there is a science behind this? Yes, you heard it right. Graphology is the name of that science and it involves studying and analyzing the handwriting for personality traits.

Graphology has been around for centuries, with the first known public book emerging in 1622. The word was only coined in the 1870s by Jean Michon of France. The emergence of psychology as a profession at the end of the century is credited with providing the greatest advancement in the field. It was only in the 19th century that it truly gained prominence.

Do you know that Graphology is also used for various other purposes too?

Yes, let's see for what all purposes it's used:

1. In educational facilities to develop a greater teacher-student relationship and teaching environment.

2. In the corporate world, it is used in screening the employees in job interviews.

3. In criminal investigations, it is used in identifying the suspects through handwritten letters.

4. Obtaining a greater understanding of one’s health.

So, these are the four areas where graphology is used.

Through analyzing each of them, certain personality traits can be determined. This of course only touches the tip of the iceberg and as Kathy McKnight, expert Graphologist indicates, over 5,000 personality traits can be determined by merely analyzing a person’s handwriting. Isn't this is so fascinating?

What is the link between handwriting and personality?

According to many graphologists worldwide, there is very little you can’t tell from a person’s handwriting.

From physiological conditions like high blood pressure and schizophrenia to personality traits like dominance and aggression, if you can write by hand, graphologists can analyze you.

Everything from the size of your letters to how much spacing you give between the words it can reveal even minute detail about your personality.

Do you also want to know what your handwriting says about your personality?

If yes, then let's get started. To get started, you need to write out any sentence and then analyze based on the below:

1. Size

Large letters:

Do you write large letters? If yes, then you are an extrovert. You enjoy being around people. You enjoy social gatherings, such as parties and you love to interact with people.

Small letters:

Do you write small letters? If you do then this is for you. This may indicate that you are an introvert. You are very focused and your concentration power is so strong.

If you are working on a creative project such as designing a website, then you can focus on and ignore outside influences.

2. Slant

Right Slant:

Your emotions govern you. You are sentimental and aggressive as a person. You find yourself expressing your feelings in a way that may seem foolish to others.

Objects you receive as gifts from friends might have a special place in your home somewhere.

No Slant:

You are very practical and logical as a person. You do not let your emotions cloud your decision-making process.

If a friend visits you at home and tells you that let's go on an adventure, then suddenly your logical mind kicks in and you will analyze the advantages and disadvantages of leaving what you are currently doing.

Left Slant:

You enjoy working with objects rather than people as you are reserved. You engage in self-analysis more.

3. Pen Pressure

Heavy Pressure:

Your emotions are strong and you are empathetic. You can feel things deeply.

For example, if you are out at a party and you see someone in trouble then you will immediately intervene as your sense of emotion takes over, regardless of whether there is imminent danger.

Light Pressure:

You are care-free. You move from place to place and you don't let your emotions wear you out. You accept the situation for what it is and find something positive also in negative situations and you know how to exactly handle it.

You utilize your time productively and never waste your time.

4. Line Spacing

Little Spacing:

You are very bad at managing your time well and find yourself struggling with a routine.

Even Spacing:

You are aware of boundaries and are punctual. When a meeting is scheduled for a specific time, you will be there on time.

If you want to go to someone's place then first you ask a person by calling that is it okay if you come to their place today.

5. Dotting your i’s

Do you know that the way you dot or don’t dot, your i’s says a lot about your personality? Yes, it does say a lot.

Those who place the dot high have imaginative personalities and those writing it off to the left tend to procrastinate very often. They don't know how to manage their time well.

6. Crossing your T’s

The length of your T-cross also discloses your further personality traits.

If you are actually a long T- crossers then you are determined and enthusiastic, and short T-crossers are lazier and they work less.

7. Signature

Do you know that your signature reveals a lot about you?

Yes, you heard it absolutely right.

If your signature is illegible, it means you like your privacy. You don’t like to reveal it easily.

If your signature is legible then it means that you are very sure of yourself, and you have nothing to hide. You are actually very true to yourself and others too.

So, these were what your handwriting can reveal about you. Would you like to reveal in which category do you fall? If yes, then let's disclose it in the comments. Haha!

Lemme disclose myself first, I would say that I write small letters so, I fall in that category. Haha! Tell me your's in the comment section below.

What does your handwriting say about your health?

But, before proceeding further I want to make it very clear that the information below should not be used for self-diagnosis.

Have you ever imagined that your handwriting can reveal all the health problems you are suffering from? If not, then it's absolutely true. It does reveal:

1. High blood pressure

Writing with variable pressure is one possible indicator that you have high blood pressure, especially when it goes from light to dark.

2. Alzheimer's disease

Handwriting deteriorates as the mental faculties deteriorate. One of the many factors includes handwriting that changes to irregular or altered letters coupled with trembles in the writing. The writing will also slow down.

3. Schizophrenia

When the slant differs within a sentence or within the same word frequently, it is one form of evidence the person is not having continual contact with reality.

4. Parkinson's disease

One of the signs of Parkinson's disease is very small or cramped handwriting. Sometimes the handwriting is so small that it's difficult to read.

5. Energy Levels

Handwriting with heavy pressure, where the writing appears dark or shows through to the back of the paper indicates high levels of energy.

A light pressure indicates a lack of energy or tiredness.

So, these things can be revealed about health by just checking your handwriting.

CONCLUSION

Personality profiling is an interesting process. Whether you use your left or right hand and even when you attempt to disguise your handwriting, your unique collection of traits, tendencies, and characteristics will still show up.

I have personally seen my handwriting changing often, and I guess that it shifts for all of us according to life events and our changing outlook.

The handwriting always reflects who you are at any given point in time. How you write by hand always reflects the essential aspects of who you are and it discloses your experiences and development as you grow and explore the paths of your life.

But, don't forget to disclose in the comments below that in which category you fall. Haha!
